[CAP-PAO] SUI D-6 form

After my assignment as MER now MAR PAO was up a few years ago I had to return to my old squadron. I discovered that there was very little PAO training and most if not all the priority was placed on social media. There still is no PIO training and very little if any training in the complete PAO function. As far as an sui I would have to say there needs to be an addressing of the complete PAO function not just social media. National hq must stress the importance of training and productivity in the complete PAO function including PIO at all levels. Performing this complete function takes several members on PAO staff at all levels and using more in the field trained and qualified pao’s not only one person constructing press releases at home. Of course I mention this in a general fashion. But it takes a qualified PAO/PIO team to take on the duty of public information not one person.
This must be reflected in any updated SUI or what was called a compliance inspection.
