It is with a very sad heart that I share the following news, our
long time member Lt Col Amanda Anderson has passed away and her
service arrangements are shared below by her husband. Many of you
might remember that she was the "go to" person for many
administrative and personnel procedures and served on several
national project committees and recognized for her contributions
with the Distinguished Service Medal. She will be sadly missed, but
also remembered with joy for the many years of service with CAP. I
had the privilege of working with her on some projects, serving on
the region awards committee and participating in events where she
was present and was a stickler for detail.<br>
<br>
If at all possible, I'm sure Dave would appreciate her fellow
members attending the memorial service in her honor.<br>

service for Lt Col Amanda Anderson will be conducted at 1400
hours on 30 May 14 at the Thompson Funeral Home, 4720
Augusta Road (US 1), Lexington SC. Amanda died on 23 Mar 14
at 1447 hours of Alzheimer’s Disease and complications from
abdominal surgery.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Officiating
at the service will be the Reverend Harold Vandeveer,
son-in-law of Lt Col Dave Friedenberg.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">All members
of Middle East Region that can attend are cordially invited
to say good-bye to a member with almost 60 years of service
to her favorite organization. Amanda joined CAP in Sep 1954
as a cadet in Charlotte, North Carolina and was continuously
active until the latter part of 2009 when her health began
to deteriorate. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Her office
here at home is filled with many of her accomplishments with
some flowing over into the great room. She was active in
NCWG, MIWG, NATCAP, SCWG, and MER HQ’s. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
