<p dir="ltr">You are right. A lot if times it's just because someone started something, and it stuck around. It's like when a commander writes a "policy" letter. There is no such thing according to CAP regs, but people keep issuing them. Anyone know where the director title started from?</p>
<p dir="ltr">In case you were wondering, a unit policy is issued as an Operating Instruction.</p>

Frankly, I have a hard time understanding why we are using terms
like "Director" at all in a paramilitary organizational chart,
especially at the Wing level. It seems to have been adopted for use
at random for various jobs that have vastly different scopes. I
could sort of understand if "Director" signified a position that
actually supervised some other staff officers, but that isn't always
the case. Seems like almost every wing staff officer in Arkansas is

that this reg only serves as a guide rather than setting
